This has to be one of the most thrilling experiences of my life so far, so this story might take a while!
I found myself in possession of Paul O'Grady ticket for the show that Lady Gaga was performing & appearing on during the 20th April 2009 episode. From previous contact with Gaga, I was able to contact her tour manager & arrange a meeting between Gaga & myself so that I could show her my art personally.
I took the train from the NorthEast to London for the special event, waking up the early hours of the morning. I took my mam & my good friend Kayleigh to the show with me. The Paul O'Grady show was great & I had my artwork displayed on his shelf onlive TV. The show finished at around 6pm, and I then went on to begin the process of meeting Lady Gaga.
The production team at the show couldn't find her tour manager, and I started to worry. We headed to the main reception desk at the London Studios to ask for advice etc. The woman at the desk called to several parts of the building to enquitre about things. She finished her phonecalls & told me that she thought Gaga had already left the studio. I was devestated!
She then told me to take a seat while she rang for her collegue to come from upstairs to talk to us. A few long long long minutes later, he came to us all hurried & out of breath saying, "Adam Bell? Come with me." I couldn't believe it - I was actually going to meet Lady Gaga. He explained to us that she was ready to leave but if we hurried we could catch her before she left. He took us up in the lift to another floor of the studios and told us that he would get us to wait in the special guests cafe and he would bring Gaga down to meet me.
So there I was, briskly walking down this corridor heading to the cafe just expecting to have to wait there some more. But then, as we approached the cafe, I could see people inside through the glass in the doors. Suddenly, Lady Gaga came into view as she was pacing around calmly in the cafe. My heart was beating so fast it was unbelieveable.
I entered the cafe and she greeted me with a warm smille, saying hello, asking how I was and if I enjoyed the show. I was so starstuck I could barely get words out. I think she could tell how nervous I was because she looked at me and said, "Awwh," and stroked my arm kindly. We had abit of a chat then my mam told me to get my art out for Gaga to see. Gaga seemed so excited to see it. Someone from her team cleared a space on the cafe table to lay my paintings onto as Gaga sat down to take a look at them. She loved them!
"These are amazing! Awwh you're gonna make me cry!," she said laughing.
She went on to ask how I learnt to paint & where I studied etc. She then asked if I wanted to sign them. I agreed, but insisted that she keep one for herself. She kept telling me to pick which one to let her have but I wanted her to choose, so she eventually picked the red hooded Gaga painting:

She signed the other two paintings for me, reading allowed what she was writing, as she wrote it. I am so over the moon with these, and for her to say how amazing they were when they are only my first ever paintings, I was so proud of myself.
'You are so talented.
Follow your dreams.
xoxo
Love + Art.
Lady Gaga'

'Love.
Art.
+ Lady GaGa.
Lady Gaga'
As she finished signing my paintings I asked if she'd mind getting a photo with me and she replied by saying "Anything for you!"
We ended up getting three photos together, the last one being a one of her kissing me on the cheek and whisperings "I love you" in my ear.

She then got a photo with Kayleigh & signed a phot for her, before leaving an waving goodbye to us.
I am due to meet Lady Gaga again in March 2010, so keep your eyes peeled for a new addition to the Brush with the Stars page!
